This high-capacity, 720,000-square-foot parking garage provides the University of Colorado Hospital campus with additional parking accessed by a pedestrian bridge, three elevators and five staircases.

Following a detailed analysis between precast and cast-in-place (CIP) garages, UCH choose CIP for durability, better lighting and lower maintenance. Key features of the garage are enclosed stairs to enhance user comfort and minimize maintenance, LED lighting with motion sensors, security cameras, emergency phone stations and electric vehicle-charging stations.

This garage is similar to the garages at Denver International Airport in footprint, volume of traffic and specialized security concerns. This structure was designed and built using Haselden’s collaborative design-build method — with the owner, architect and Haselden Team together from project inception to completion.
