Effective communication is key in any construction project – it is an essential component of success not only for timely completion, but also for making the process as smooth and stress-free as possible. Having great communication is important not only between the members of the Fort Collins contractors team and between the managers and their teams, but between the representative of the client and the commercial builder as well – if you are the client, here are a few tips for you about how to improve the communication with your builder:
- Communication channels established clearly – only clearly established lines of communication can guarantee that information flows without loss. Make sure the contract with your builder or the documents attached to the contract include information about contact persons on your side as the client as well as on the builder’s side;
- The method of communication – the channel used, such as emails or phone calls and the frequency of the progress reports (daily, weekly, etc.) must be established as well;
- Concise, easy to understand language – whatever the communication channel of choice, you need to do every effort to formulate what you have to say in a concise style that is straight to the point and free from professional jargon as much as possible.
