With much anticipation and excitement, the first Steele Creek residents have moved in and have made the new luxury apartment building at 1st Avenue and Steele Street in Denver’s tony Cherry Creek Shopping District their home. Considering the fast pace at which these new apartments are being reserved, these first residents were smart to get in the door early!
Haselden Construction is proud to have built this high-end residential living complex (see the fun we had during a topping-out party in the building), and we now enjoy tracking its progress.
According to developer BMC Investment’s Chief Executive Officer Matt Joblon, a large percentage of the units were pre-leased with the larger, pricier apartments going first. Having been preleasing for the last five to six months, Joblon expects the Steele Creek Denver apartments to be fully occupied by Fall.
In addition to the 218 apartments — configured as studio, one and two-bedroom units — the mixed-use property houses approximately 17,000 square feet of retail. World-renowned chef Nobuyuki Matsuhisa will open his first Denver-area restaurant (two other locations are in Aspen and Vail.), occupying 7,800 square feet of that space. The James Beard Award-nominated chef’s fusion-style menus blend traditional Japanese dishes with ingredients from Peru and Argentina, where he honed his culinary craft before opening his first restaurant in the United States in Beverly Hills, Calif.
“Matsuhisa in Aspen and Vail have hosted food lovers from around the world,” co-owner Michael Goldberg said in a news release. “We look forward to bringing Matsuhisa’s innovative menu to our guests in Denver.”
Those guests will, of course, include the residents of Steele Creek. In addition to staffing a beautiful dining room service, Matsuhisa will offer service to the building’s roof-deck pool and food and beverage delivery to residents.
