Lafayette, Colorado

The Kaiser Permanente Rock Creek project was a remodel of 18,000 SF of existing space for a radiological services suite and included the following four departments plus a waiting/check-in area:

  • MRI Department with two MRI units, CT scan, and related equipment
  • Radiology Department, including two radiology units and a flhoroscopy unit
  • Ultrasound/Mammography Department with two ultrasound units, two
mammography units, and a stereotactic mammography unit
  • Nuclear Medicine Department with a nuclear medicine unit, hot laboratory, echo testing room, and two cardio treadmills

Work consisted of constructing walls, floors, ceiling, and related structural and HVAC work, including special cooling/venting systems for the MRI units. The scope included major underground flooring and structural work to meet the MRI unit concrete requirements. To ensure that the existing space remained fully operational, Haselden provided BIM modeling on the MRI rooms and Path-of-Travel for the magnets to coordinate construction activity with Exempla-Good Samaritan Hospital. Haselden also provided design-assist services on the RF shielding for the MRI rooms.
