Construction of the new Casper Family YMCA in Casper, Wyo., is on track! We invite you to read more about the $16 million project of which we’re proud to be a part.
The new 38,000-square-foot building will continue the organization’s longstanding service as a vital and important hub of activity in Casper. The YMCA now has about 2,700 members — and will aim to double its membership with additional programming the new facility is expected to accommodate.
The new building’s special features will include a fitness studio, field house, wellness center, children’s play area and a lounge where members can relax and socialize.
Once the new facility is open, Y officials have plans for a second phase of construction. Those preliminary plans call for a new swimming pool, racquetball courts and a new space for the Y’s child-care program. When that second phase is complete, most of the existing facility — which was constructed in the 1960s — will be demolished (a large gym and Judo space will remain intact). The teardown will provide space for a large skate park, outdoor playground and parking.
