Aspen Valley Hospital’s continued efforts to provide expert healthcare include world-class facilities for patients, their families and the surrounding Aspen community. The hospital is embarking on the third and fourth phases of a construction Master Plan that has been carefully implemented since 2007. The expansion, renovation and contemporary re-design of the hospital’s emergency department, surgery services and diagnostic imaging will provide an enhanced patient experience, accommodate all of today’s technology — and anticipate future growth and medical advances that undoubtedly will come.

Haselden Construction is honored to serve as the general contractor. Our work has included the renovation of an existing Patient Care Unit (PCU) and Intensive Care Unit, relocation of the hospital’s same-day surgery and cardiopulmonary departments, a second-story addition to accommodate outpatient clinical and administrative services, relocation of the hospital’s kitchen and cafeteria on the first level, a new loading dock at the basement level infrastructure, and a three-tiered parking structure with 234 spaces. Other design features include improved circulation paths, a rooftop heliport, physical plant improvements and 7,000 square feet of shelled space for future growth.

New additions and improvements to existing facilities have helped the hospital achieve LEED Gold certification — a great accomplishment given that the goal was LEED Silver.
