One Steamboat Place Construction Completed
CENTENNIAL, CO, February 8, 2010 – Haselden Construction announces the completion of construction on the One Steamboat Place luxury resort. The $145 million, 468,000 square foot complex reflects the revitalization of the Steamboat base area while paying tribute to its history. Located adjacent to the gondola, the newest of the Timbers Collection Resorts includes 80 private, luxury residences with two levels of parking, along with retail and commercial space, restaurants, boutiques, members-only lounge, fitness facilities and state-of-the-art spa.
The design embodies a rustic, outdoor theme. From fish made of hand-blown glass creating a show-stopping chandelier in the main lobby, to reclaimed wood-plank flooring from a 19th century Amish Barn, to artwork depicting cowboys skiing and fishing – the magnificent appointments compliment the mountain culture of Steamboat Springs.
Sustainable design and construction was a key component of the project. Materials used throughout the residences are ecologically friendly and environmentally sensitive including low volatile organic compound (VOC) paints, recycled steel, energy efficient HVAC systems, and water efficient landscaping.
Construction on One Steamboat Place commenced in Spring 2007. Building at the base of a ski resort offers a unique set of site logistical challenges; Haselden successfully resolved these challenges including record snowfalls and skier traffic along the jobsite. The 2008 – 2009 winter snowfall measured a record 500 inches. Through daily communication and collaboration, Haselden’s experienced team was able to maintain their schedule and safeguard pedestrians and workers, in spite of the snow.
Neil Sharples, Haselden Project Executive, believes that the stellar construction team at One Steamboat Place was a quintessential factor in the success of the project – from maintaining the schedule to exceeding high client expectations for quality and safety. “The success of One Steamboat Place can be attributed to the extraordinary collaborative efforts of the entire project team including RNL Design, Timbers Collection Resorts, the City of Steamboat Springs, Routt County, and Haselden.”
