Haselden Completes two waters Tribal Government Administration Complex
Centralized location reflects cultural values of
Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian community
CENTENNIAL, CO, June 11, 2009 – Haselden Construction announces the recently completed two waters tribal office, administration and government complex. The $70 million, 198,000 square foot complex reflects the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian community’s respect for the land and the two rivers – Salt and Verde – that flow through the eastern boundary. The complex provides an integrated space for the community in Scottsdale, Arizona.
The project design called for materials and a structural expression that convey a regional, earthen character, “hand-made” construction, and a symbolic convergence of two Indian cultures. Features include two 3-story office buildings connected by a bridge, along with cultural displays, outdoor amphitheater and park. In addition, the landscape design includes an extensive array of native plantings with fountain features that create a tranquil and welcoming environment. An abundance of natural light gives employees and visitors breathtaking views of the landscape and nearby landmarks. Two more buildings in the complex, a 12,000 sf. cafeteria and 12,800 sf. tribal council chambers, each accommodate up to 300 people.
