American Academy Chooses Haselden Construction to Build New School
Facility in Castle Pines North to open for 2009/2010 school year
DENVER, CO, November 17, 2008 – Haselden Construction has been selected to provide construction management and general contractor services for the new 83,000 square foot American Academy school. Students and staff will move from their existing location in Lone Tree, Colorado to a new parcel of land in Castle Pines North.
The $12 million dollar facility on six acres will provide the physical infrastructure needed for the school’s rising enrollment in Kindergarten through 8th grade. This core knowledge, math, science and technology public charter school, which has been awarded the John Irwin Award of Excellence every year since inception, has grown over forty-eight percent. Approximately 800 students are expected to begin classes next fall in the new school. It will include state-of-the-art science and computer labs, gymnasium, and library and offer more than three times the space of the current facility.
"We are thrilled to be working with Haselden Construction," said Erin Kane, President of American Academy. "They sharpened their pencils to come up with a way to build our school within our budget and time frame, despite a set of extremely challenging circumstances." Haselden is also working closely with owner’s representative Inline Management and architect Hutton Architecture Studio on the project.
